by EPSVR 1 Joel S. Guileb

The Schools Division of Tarlac Province has recently organized teams of district supervisors for the Task Force Masinop at Matapat as part of its thrust in promoting good governance thru financial transparency among public elementary and secondary schools.

Dr. Estrelita S. Cunanan, Officer-in-Charge – Office of the Schools Division Superintendent, said that the creation of the task force will promote financial transparency among the schools managed and supervised by the Schools Division of Tarlac Province.

“The members of the task force will serve as our partners in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of education services,” pointed out Superintendent Cunanan.

During the presentation of the orientation of the members, Education Program Supervisor I Bobby P. Caoagdan cited DepED Order No. 80, series 2010 (Implementation of the Internal Audit Service in the Department of Education) as the legal basis in organizing the task force.

“The task force will perform internal audit services among public schools,” Dr. Caoagdan revealed as he quoted Section 3 of the department order stating that “the Internal Audit Service (IAS) is an integral part of the DepEd and shall assist in the management and effective discharge of responsibilities of DepEd, without intruding into the authority and mandate of the Commission on Audit (COA).”

Four teams were organized to perform the internal audit services: Dr. Rommel Reginaldo, Dr. Nicolasa Camaya, Dr. Marilou Santiago and Mr. Ernesto Bayno for Cluster I; Dr. Catalina Castañeda, Dr. Rally Castro, Dr. Tessie Manuel and Mr. Aurelio Carmelo for Cluster II; Dr. Arbe Apostol, Mr. Delfin Sibal, Mr. Arsenio Espinoza and Dr. Loida Zamora for Cluster III; and Mrs. Tita Dela Cruz, Mr. Willy Partido, Mrs. Marilyn Pascua and Mr. Joey Quizon for Cluster IV.

The task force members will perform functions related to strengthening financial transparency

among public elementary and secondary school heads.

Dr. Caoagdan emphasized integrity, objectivity, confidentiality and competence to the members of the task force in performing their functions.

Philippine Association of District Supervisors (Tarlac Chapter) President Marilyn H. Pascua expressed optimism for the creation of the task force.

“We appreciate our Schools Division Superintendent in introducing this innovation so we could help our school heads in promoting good governance among our stakeholders,” cited DS Pascua.
